Holistic dentistry knows that there is a close relationship between abnormal conditions in the mouth and diseases in the rest of the body. This can be via energetic relationships, e.g. the meridians, but also via direct toxic effects. Periodontitis is considered a disease par excellence which is associated with a clearly increased risk of other serious diseases. This has often been proven, but is rarely taken into account. It is shown that there are two simple treatment methods for "everyone", namely the use of bicarbonate and chlorine dioxide in the oral cavity. These can be used to neutralize acids and eliminate pathogenic bacteria in the oral cavity. This is a prophylactic measure against serious illnesses.
