A photon absorption model was derived assuming that it has not just energy and momentum but also rest mass. The photon momentum equation was considered in 2 different ways: the quantum mechanical (QM) momentum (P=E/c) and the special theory of relativity (STR) momentum. The photon mass was determined using experimental data reported in the Millikan experiment concerning the determination of the Planck constant using a Na target. The obtained average photon mass was 7E-37 kg for the QM model and 4E-38 for the STR model. The photon mass values obtained here are about 6 orders of magnitude smaller than the one obtained using the massive scattering model developed by the author recently. This very large difference in the photon rest mass is an indication of a strong dependency of its mass on its frequency. The impact of the massive photon (not necessarily dark) on the rotation curve of galaxies is advised to be assessed. This impact could also shade light on the most adequate photon moment model.
