Abstract

Hospital libraries constitute significant pillars supporting clinical practice, research, and education within the healthcare sector. The role of the medical librarian has expanded, now requiring skills that go beyond the technical management of information. Among these, literary skills—defined as the abilities to comprehend, interpret, and produce high-quality written discourse—emerge as a critical factor for the effective practice of the profession. This article examines the role of literary skills in medical librarians and investigates the extent to which they support their work within the context of a hospital library.
